Kisura Nyoto

Kisura Nyoto [Key-sir-rah] [Knee-oh-ta] was born in Oakland on a Thursday afternoon and has lived a lot of places since. She learned to sing in the backseat of her mom’s car listening to the likes of The Isley Brothers, Carole King, Minnie Ripperton, Anita Baker and Michael Franks.  She wrote her first poem at 10 years old and first song shortly thereafter. Music has always been her home, despite her location, and being a songwriter saves her life on a daily basis.
